So here we are in the run-up to Christmas. For most of us crafters this is a busy time of year, not only attempting to manage the normal chaos of the kids' Christmas plays, school fairs and that pesky Elf on the Shelf, but also working away into the small hours making orders ready for the big day. Most of the Christmas craft fairs have now finished and I am pleased to say I've finished delivering all of my orders from those fairs, well, driving around the local villages and sending my eldest up the drives of customers to pop parcels through the door. I sold it to her as a chance to look at all of the pretty Christmas lights! However, I can confirm that most of the houses in our locality have names and not numbers and trying this in the dark proved challenging at times. But they are all safely delivered. Now onto the next batch of orders.
For us small businesses, Christmas can provide a boost to our incomes, and every order I receive I can honestly say means so much. It helps pay for swimming and music lessons, for the food shop and for tanks of diesel. But when people say they love my work it means even more, so thank you for all of your messages and words of support, it really does make me smile (and do a happy dance!) Now all I need to do it recruit a small army of Christmas Elves to help me do my own Christmas shopping... if previous years are anything to go by it'll be Christmas Eve when I get around to it!
